Susan B. AnthonyAfter the Eisenhower Dollar lost favor with the general public due to its large size and relative inconvenience to use, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar was introduced in 1979. Originally intended to commemorate women's rights, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar marked the first time a real woman appeared on a circulating U.S. coin. Unfortunately, the size of the coin was not much difference than the quarter and, like its predecessor, the coin lost favor with the general public.
