Franklin

The Franklin Half Dollar was introduced in 1948. There was little demand for the coin in its first few years, resulting in relatively low mintages. The series was relatively short, lasting only through 1963 when the untimely death of President John F. Kennedy led the the release of the Kennedy Half Dollar in 1964.
