Indian HeadThe Indian Head Cent was introduced in 1859 as a replacement to the short-lived Flying Eagle Cent. A copper-nickel mixture was used until 1864 when a change was made to copper-zinc (bronze). Indian Head Cents were produced for 50 years and were eventually replaced by the Lincoln Cent in 1909. Effective 12/1/2022 we will no longer stock Indian Head Cents prior to 1879--please view our Specials for any available items.
